I thought I'd try and do a similar image in Vue with a Vue generated landscape and 'renderosity' lighting with 'ambient occlusion' ('final gather' in Mental Ray) and soft shadows. Is it OK for me to post the image on my gallery with a link back to this one and credits for the idea? It is merely a technical (rather than artistic because plagiarism is never artistic) attempt to see the difference in rendering software.

Not particular with the placement of objects and my image will be low-resolution 1200xWhatever or lower.

Love the background picture and was trying to simulate such an image entirely in 3D software, bypassing the otherwise necessary Photoshop compositing stage.

I thought I should seek permission to publish, on DeviantArt and nowhere else, experiments derived from your work.
